Aquinas ...for Beginners Part 1

Women of all ages are invited to participate in an 8-week Endow study of Aquinas...for Beginners Part 1 at Our Lady of Sorrows.  Thomas Aquinas is one of the true giants of Catholic teaching and is famous for his exploration of concepts, such as, the union of body and soul, reasons for the existence of God and understanding the human passions.

MASS IN THE PARK at 1:00 PM

Get ready, get set, go..........  It's time for the 6^th Annual Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Picnic for OLS Parishioners and their immediate families.  Join us in Shiawassee Park for hot dogs, side dishes, desserts and soft drinks from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.  We will have fun and games for all ages.

St. Francis Council Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Religious and Vocations appreciation dinner on Friday, October 1, 2010 beginning at 6:30 PM in the Our Lady of Sorrows School Cafeteria.  Priests and other religious will be our honored guests for an evening of food, drinks, fun and gratitude for the tremendous work they do for the church.  Pre-dinner entertainment will be provided by Joseph David the Magician.

The high school graduating class of 1978 is planning a reunion on July 17, 2010 to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows in the school cafeteria for all classmates who attended Beahan Junior High.  The planning committee has been fortunate to have found many of the classmates but is still looking for a few and their contact information to invite them to the reunion.  If you are one of these missing classmates or know of a family member in this class, could you please send an email with address to Matthew Ratliff at matliff@comcast.net.

There are many ways to participate in this year's event:

We will be collecting the tabs from aluminum cans the weekend of June 12/13.  Boxes will be at the three entrances of the church for your convenience.

We collect twice a year (June and January) and the tabs are donated to the American Legion Post 346, who has them recycled and the money is given toward pediatric supplies for hospitals in Michigan.
